Facial Slimming & Contouring
Many Asians generally view a slim and oval face as being beautiful. In contrast, a large or rounded face which may be due to fat deposition, large jaw muscles (masseters), water retention, and/or large bone structure may not be deemed attractive to some.
Prominent masseters (large jaw muscles) can make the jaw area appear protruded and disproportionately large. This can be distressing and may be considered unfeminine for Asian ladies by some. This problem can be easily treated with Botox injections. By weakening the masseter muscles, the muscles become smaller and less prominent; leading to an apparent slimming of the facial profile while chewing action is unaffected.
Overall, in order to achieve a slimmer facial profile, the various areas can be targeted and treated:
- Botox can be used to reduce the size of the jaw muscles, creating a slimmer facial profile
- Ultherapy may be used to firm up the skin to create a sharper jawline/contour and a slimmer facial appearance
- Radiofrequency (Indiba or Tripollar) : used to reduce fat and water retention, and firm up the skin
